For all of us truly working in, living and promoting organics, greenwashing can be annoying. Terms like "natural" and "sustaibable" might be marketed to mean the same thing as "organic," but they are not. This leaves the underinformed consumer confused over price disparities and value. To set the record straight, anything officially labeled "organic" has to adhere to certain US or international standards, which insures an inherent value. Maya Rodale discusses this in her blog post, and her conclusion is right. We need to continue to educate the public about what organic means and build more support around one, fully-understood term.
