For people who have skin allergies and sensitivities, mothers who want a gentle detergent for their babies, or for those who want to reduce the number of  chemicals around them, it is great to have fragrance-free, fewer- ingredient products available.  Most of us trust a product's labeling, and believe it when we see a message like "reduced sugar", "gluten-free" or "made with organic ingredients".  But, thank goodness for watchdog groups like Women's Voices for the Earth.  Their latest report reveals that Tide Free and Gentle contains a cancer-causing chemical, 1,4 Dioxane.  Really, Proctor and Gamble?   Read more...

Solar is such an abundant and clean energy source, but it's been so hard to efficiently collect.  Finally, the technology has been developed to break the 30%  mark.  Solar cell maker Semprius has done it using a combination of lenses to intensify the light, and super sensitive solar panels.  Although it may take a while for these panels to trickle down to Home Depot level for all of us, it's still great news. Read more...
